I offer seminars and workshops on managing stress, improving wellness and increasing creativity, innovation and productivity, as well as providing meditation courses for executives and teams.

With the pattern of work disrupted and probably changed for the foreseeable future a number of issues which were previously considered unimportant have been thrown into the spotlight.

In the past we went to work. Now we work, at all times of the day and night, with fewer physical and geographical restrictions and boundaries which all comes at a cost.

Businesses are doing a great job in changing their work practices to accommodate the shift in what employees feel is a possible work/life balance.

Employees find the major benefits of working from home include more flexibility to mould work around family, exercise and leisure time, wearing what they want, controlling lighting, heating and ventilation and not having to commute. Surveys typically show that commuting is usually considered the worst part of their day unless they walk or cycle.

Most home workers find they can get more done due to fewer distractions and a survey by Boston Consulting Group of 1500 managers at large European companies found more than half had seen productivity levels rise as their employees shifted to remote work during the pandemic.

There are some negative effects such as workers feeling isolated and finding it harder to switch off due to blurred boundaries between home and work life. Innovation is also an area which has seen a decline probably due to lack of serendipitious conversations which spark ideas.
